In my course, writing is treated as more than just an English skill — it is a craft that can be developed through clear guidance, structured practice, and thoughtful feedback. My lessons are designed for students who want to build genuine academic writing ability for university study, study abroad, IELTS preparation, or future professional success. Rather than simply memorising templates, students learn how academic writing actually works: how to structure ideas logically, develop arguments clearly, and communicate with confidence in formal English. Classes combine: systematic instruction, practical writing techniques, personalised support, and step-by-step scaffolding designed specifically for Japanese learners. I believe strong writing comes from understanding, practice, and refinement. Students are encouraged throughout the learning process while also being challenged to think critically and write with precision. Whether you are preparing for university-level study in English or aiming to strengthen your academic communication skills, my goal is to help you become a more confident, independent, and capable writer. I have previously taught English Composition, English Literature, World Literature, and Debate at the Korean Minjok Leadership Academy, a private boarding school in South Korea. Many of my students have gone on to attend university at some the leading universities in the United States and the United Kingdom. I have extensive experience in London teaching English as a second language to hundreds of students from all over the world. I have also mentored and supported vulnerable young people in accessing education in my native England. I look forward to working with you.
