Hi...

Hello! My name is Nika. I am a Native English speaker with a mother that is Japanese. I grew up speaking Japanese and attending Japanese school on the weekends. I want to help you feel confident speaking English in a relaxed and comfortable environment. I want my lessons to feel like catching up with a friend instead of learning in a cold classroom. With my background of growing up speaking Japanese in an English speaking country I understand how challenging learning a language can be. If you get stuck or don't understand an English phrase, I am able to guide you through the meaning and the reason in Japanese so you don't feel like you’ve left anything behind. Whether you want to practice casual daily conversation, prepare for a trip abroad, or practice business phrases, we will go entirely at your own pace. I look forward to meeting you and chatting over a coffee or Skype!

I focus on relaxed, real-life conversation where you can speak without the fear of making mistakes. My lessons feel like catching up with a friend over coffee, not sitting in a strict classroom. As a native English speaker whose mother is Japanese, I grew up speaking Japanese to my mother and going to Japanese school on the weekends so I understand how challenging language learning can be. If you get stuck or don't understand a specific nuance, I can instantly explain it to you clearly in Japanese. Whether you want to practice daily lifestyle conversation, prepare for travel, or just build your confidence, we will go entirely at your own pace!
