Hi! I'm Steff, a qualified English teacher with 9 years of English teaching experience and 10+ years of teaching overall. I teach one-on-one lessons only to ensure a truly personalized, interactive, high-quality lesson. Primarily teaching online via Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, the student does not need to download any software to participate, and homework/ worksheets are sent through a personal Google Drive file. However, if the student is local to me, within the Daito/ Neyagawa/ Higashi-Osaka area, then it might be possible for me to teach in person. My lessons are personalised to your level, goals, and interests. Whether you want to improve everyday conversation, prepare for travel, use English for work, improve your child's English, or simply become more confident speaking, I build lessons around what you actually need. I create high-quality PowerPoint lessons and use conversation practice, role-play, games, challenges, and activities to make lessons practical, fun, and meaningful. I teach children, teens, and adults, and I can adapt lessons for different learning styles and needs. For younger learners, my English programme, Jez's Pathfinder, follows a structured CEFR-aligned curriculum with my three doggy mascots, Jez, Lila, and Skye. Lessons can include phonics, reading, vocabulary, grammar, and conversation, with varying lesson options that depend on the student's age, level, attention span, and goals. For adults, lessons can focus specifically on conversation, business English, or travel English. I also offer optional checked homework and additional online learning resources for students who want to practise between lessons. My aim isn't just to teach you English, but to help you feel comfortable and confident actually using it.

My teaching style is friendly, flexible and student-centred. I adapt each lesson to the student's level, interests, goals and learning style, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I use conversation, role-play, games, challenges and practical activities to help students actually use English, not just study it. I aim to make lessons fun and relaxed while still giving students enough challenge to keep improving. I also encourage students to build confidence by practising in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
