Hello, my name is Hannah Lee, but please call me Hannah. I'm from the US and have been living in Japan for about 5 years. My husband is Japanese and I study Japanese every day with him. I really enjoy teaching English and helping students achieve their goals. I'm not a strict person, but when teaching I'm very focused and give medium to strict correction. I ask students to complete basic homework in preparation for each lesson. I'm happy to help you determine goals and create a study plan. Studying diligently is very important, but above all I aim for lessons to be fun! My lessons are fairly structured; I start with a warm-up/small-talk (5-10 minutes depending on the student's preference), check homework, move into lesson goals (e.g. expressing opinions in meetings and disagreeing with others) and key phrases, then we'll do a short activity or role-play to practice those phrases, and lastly we'll do a big role-play to bring everything together. I assign homework such as reading an article, watching a video, or writing practice for each lesson, and my correction style is delayed, medium-strict. Of course casual conversation is helpful to learners, but I like lessons to have a focus on a learning goal so that students can measure their progress and feel motivated.
