Hello, everyone! I’m excited to meet you! Learning English is extremely challenging but very rewarding. When you learn English, you broaden your mind and open your world. I have taught English for almost 20 years to Japanese students from 4 years old to 80 years old. Because of my experience, I am able to teach lessons in many ways. If you become my student, I will ask you why you want to learn English and then plan your lesson based on your answer. In my experience, I believe having open conversations is extremely important for Japanese students. Most Japanese people don’t have this opportunity with native-English speakers. So, I always include at least 15 minutes of conversation to improve your speaking and listening skills. In addition, this is a fun way to share about culture and hobbies so we can both broaden our worlds. Let’s learn from each other! I can teach on-line, in-person or we can even do English field trips. I'm very open-minded and do my best to bring creativity and fun to my lessons. For my first lesson, I generally use it to get to know the students with an open conversation. Of course, part of that conversation is asking them what kind of lesson they want. As a person who lives in Japan and is learning Japanese, I believe one of the most important things for private lessons is the opportunity for students to speak freely. Thus, I do my best to engage them in open conversations. I am a person with many interests so I'm able to converse with people on a wide variety of topics. In addition, if the student wishes to have things like formal listening test practices for things like EIKEN, or practice reading and writing, I will provide materials for them do that. In the end, I apply my 19 years of experience teaching people of all ages and levels here in Japan so that students get the lesson they want!
