I generally focus on the key skills of conversation (Listening and Speaking). For my lessons, I prepare a number of topics to talk about which the student will listen to first. I will then ask the student to explain to me what I told them. After that, we go through the script together to find any information or new vocabulary that they didn't catch. Finally we end each talk with discussion about the topic using pre-written conversational questions. This method ensures that students understand what is being said and allows them to give their own thoughts and opinions on the topic, whilst also teaching them new vocabulary and phrases.
