Dear Students, I am Theodore, but you can call me Ted. If you are looking for a native French speaker, or academic english speaker, used to interact with people from different background and with different level, search no more, you found me! I enjoy teaching French/ English language and culture; I believe that both are related. In the first class, we will estimate your level. Then, we will proceed on defining your expectations and build a course strategy accordingly. As such, my classes address to beginners, intermediate or high-level French/English speakers that wants to either improve / stabilize / perfect their communication skills. In the class, we will focus more on oral comprehension, production and reading. As an assignment(not mandatory), I will ask you to provide summary of recordings or documents used from official sources. I truly believe that language is a lens, though which your thinking process will differ. In my class, we will learn how to bolster your abilities to not only speak the language, but also to think like a French/English native would. First lesson is about understanding the student overall linguistic level and expectations. After having establish a profile of the students, I will work with the students to reinforce his weakness and enhance his skills. My method is twofold. In class, we will mainly discuss, and exchange, around subjects of my or of the student choices. Between classes, I will ask the students to review documents that I will provide in forms of summary or presentations, for them to approach the langage not only from the often disliked "learning by heart" process. If the student wants it, we will also build flashcards and used cellphone applications for them to practice at anytime during their day.
